RTEMS stands for Real-Time Executive for Multiprocessor Systems. It is a full featured RTOS (Real-Time Operating System) that supports a variety of open API and interface standards, but is designed for deeply embedded systems. RTEMS is a free open source solution that supports applications with the most stringent real-time requirements.

The RTEMS project is managed by OAR Corporation with invaluable development input from the vibrant and talented members of the RTEMS community. Additional features are being continuously developed.
